I am now in my final seat in my training contract and have moved to our new office in Billericay. This is a very exciting opportunity as the office has only been open for a few months and is already very busy. The firm has both conveyancing and family departments based in the Billericay office and I am providing assistance to both departments.
I am working closely with the conveyancing fee earner, assisting her with dealing with a busy caseload on a day to day basis. I have had the opportunity to become involved in both sale and purchase transactions from the point when we receive the initial instructions to act through to completion and the post completion work. This has been an excellent experience as I have been able to assist with progressing individual files, allowing me to get to know the clients and the agents and build up a rapport with them as their transactions progress. I enjoy working at the fast pace which is necessary in such a busy environment.
I am also assisting the family department, building upon the knowledge and experience I previously gained in the department, clerking conferences with counsel and court hearings and assisting with the follow up work. I have also had the opportunity to assist with ongoing trusts of land cases which is an area of law I am particularly interested in and which is very current. I am keen to develop my knowledge in this area further.
I have enjoyed the move to the Billericay office and the new experiences this has provided. I am particularly enjoying the variety of work I am exposed to by assisting with two different departments.
