We offer the first half an hour of advice for FREE
If you or someone you know find yourself in difficulties with the Police – then don’t panic, just call us! If you believe you are going to be arrested then you would be best to get legal advice as soon as possible. We are available 24 hours a day for emergency advice and assistance at the police station following an arrest at a time which may be traumatic and when clear and comprehensive advice is essential. Being represented in the Police Station can make a crucial difference to your case.
Our crime department regularly deal with offences ranging from road traffic offences, thefts, burglary, robbery, frauds, assaults, public order incidents, drug related offences, sexual offences, white collar crime, benefit fraud and murder. We have experience in representing clients in Trading Standards Prosecutions, Royal Mail Prosecutions and Environmental Prosecutions. We also can assist with appeals or judicial review cases.
We also have experience in defending investigations by the Police and prosecutions brought by the Crown Prosecution Service or Trading Standards in relation to car clamping services. In such circumstances, individuals licensed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and Company Directors can find themselves facing serious allegations of blackmail or lesser known offences under the Unfair Trading Regulations of 1998.
Furthermore, we can assist in circumstances where licences have been suspended by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) as a result of a Police investigation or criminal charges being laid.
From helping at the police station, through the Magistrates Court and Crown Court – you can be assured that your case will be dealt with professionally and competently. Whatever your age – from youths to adults - we are able to help. We take our client’s seriously at Paul Robinsons LLP – and will do our best to ensure the best possible outcome for your case.
We offer a friendly, confidential and dependable service and our aim is to provide quality representation whilst ensuring, where possible, that the same solicitor deals with your case from beginning to end thereby maintaining continuity. We also have our own in-house advocates – ensuring we can competently deal with your matter from start to finish in the Crown Court.
Our team is led by Paul Vickers and Michelle Breindel who both have a wide variety of experience in the simplest to more complex matters. Details of our team can be found above.
Although our offices are based in Westcliff-on-Sea and Billericay we regularly travel around Essex, London and the South East to represent clients.
How much will this cost me?
We have a criminal contract enabling us to provide publicly funded work as well as representing clients who are privately funded.
If you are arrested, then you are entitled to free and independent advice at the Police Station. This means just ask for Paul Robinson Solicitors at the Police station and we will be happy to attend.
If you are charged, then you may wish to consider making an application for Legal Aid. We can help you with this. Legal aid is two part test – looking at both the interests of justice of your case and also your financial situation. We will be happy to discuss this with you and advise you on whether you are likely to be eligible. If your matter goes to the Crown Court, then although you will automatically qualify for legal aid, you may have to make a monthly financial contribution to your representation. You will not have to pay if you are under 18 years old or claiming state benefits. If you are found not guilty, then any contribution may be refunded dependent upon the Court.
If you’re not eligible for legal aid – then we offer competitive rates for privately funded matters. If you are found not guilty, then we can assist you in claiming your costs back. Please call us to discuss your matter individually.
